Fairy Wands

To add a bit of pizzazz to your party food table, I always think you need to add a little height!  We have a gorgeous fairy party this weekend, and I thought every fairy needs a wand, and these little beauties were created.

Fairy Wand Biscuits

Fairy Wand Biscuits

Here is the recipe…

  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 125 g butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 lightly beaten egg
  • 20 plain popsicle sticks

ICING

  • 1 cup Icing sugar, 3 tsp milk and rose pink food colouring
  • Pink sprinkles

METHOD:

Melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove and pour over the sugar.

Put the rest of the ingredients into the bowl and stir to combine.  It will turn out like a lovely dough.

You will then be able to roll the dough out onto a floured surface.  Mine were a bit thick, but 1cm is the maximum thickness – (needs to be thick enough to hold the popsicle stick).

Once the dough is rolled out, use your star shape to make the stars, and then place onto a baking paper lined tray.  Then carefully push the popsicle stick into each star!  This recipe should make about 20 biscuits.

Bake on 160 (fan forced) for about 15 minutes.  Let the biscuits rest to cool, and they will harden.

Finally just mix 1 cup of icing sugar with a drop of rose pink food colouring and paste the lovely mixture over your biscuits.  Then sprinkle your sprinkles over the top.

I finished mine off with a little ribbon tied around the popsicle stick.

🙂  Happy baking.
